MyFax Introduces A Virtual PBX Service My1voice
MyFax and its parent Ottawa based company Protus, are turning
a few heads once again in the very competitive Internet Fax
field. And no, we are not talking about the recent trademark
dispute where it successfully blocked its long time rival,
j2 Global Communications, from registering “efax” as a trademark
in the UK.
Protus has recently released a new virtual PBX phone service
called my1voice. This service means many small to mid-size
businesses have another option with it comes to outfitting
their workplaces. For those businesses just beginning, especially
in these harsh economic times, it can mean significant savings
in start-up costs.
What is a PBX Service?
PBX is short for “private branch exchange’ and refers to
a private telephone network used within a company or enterprise.
Basically, many companies use a PBX service because it’s
cheaper then connecting a telephone line to every phone
in your organization. They have a few external numbers
but most of the calls are handled “in-house”.
Now, MyFax with its my1voice PBX service is offering
small businesses and entrepreneurs a really inexpensive
way of setting up a virtual PBX system within their
companies.
How my1voice works?
In a recent press release, MyFax explained how their PBX system
will work:
“my1voice uses existing telephone equipment to provide
communications features such as auto-attendant, multiple
extensions and voicemail services that give a professional
face to callers while also allowing employees to stay in
touch with the office via phone, e-mail or the web.
Since there is no additional hardware or software to install
or maintain, my1voice is a fraction of the cost compared to
a traditional PBX system. Features include the ability to
customize a recorded greeting, automate call routing, set
individual voicemail boxes for each employee, and receive
automatic voicemail notifications.”
Only time will tell how successful this new virtual PBX service
will become but it does offer another PBX option for small companies
to consider. It was designed to handle one to 25 employees and
may prove to be very cost-effective. The my1voice program offers
three different service options ranging in price from $10 to
$50 USD per month.
My1voice Features:
“Unlike standard, equipment-based PBX systems, my1voice allows
businesses to obtain benefits such as auto attendant, multiple
extensions, voice mail and more whether employees are inside or
outside the company walls.”
Perhaps, more importantly, as we have seen with Internet Fax,
this service modernizes the present day workplace and brings
it into our very mobile computer age. As more and more business
is conducted online, having such a virtual PBX service does expand
the very definition of the workplace itself. It opens up a whole
new way of conducting your business and provides a means to expand
beyond the walls of your company.
With this my1voice PBX service, MyFax or Protus is again
proving itself to be a true “business solution” provider for
many small businesses and entrepreneurs around the globe. It
does provide a viable option to the traditional PBX system for
many companies. Let’s just hope the winning streak continues
for MyFax and we get more innovative products in the future.
